Is the backpack heavy?

The backpack weighs 3.8 lb (1.7 kg).

It's not ultralight. But the backpack is made leather, built to last, and designed to carry a full day.

If weight is your #1 deciding factor, we want you to feel totally clear and confident before you buy.

The bag doesn't feel heavy on your body because it:

  • it sits close to your back (less pulling, less “drag”),
  • the mesh-backed leather straps and mesh back panel are designed for all-day wear,
  • the structure keeps your things from sinking into a lumpy pile, so the weight stays balanced, and
  • leather relaxes as you use it, which means it softens and molds to you. One of our customers put it perfectly: “after a few days you can tell the leather relaxed.”

Will the bag fit my laptop?

The bag fits up to 15" laptops.

Most 16" laptops fit in the bag, but the laptop compartment zipper must stay open.

Does the bag stand upright?

Yes. The bag stands upright because it has a rectangular base as well as 5 bag studs, including one in the middle for additional support.

For the best stability, ensure that the bottom compartment includes items such as shoes, or velcro down the separator to use the bag as one long compartment (when the bottom compartment is not needed).

Can the bag be used as a personal item?

Yes, on most US airlines.

Most US airlines cap personal items at 18" x 14" x 8". Our bag is 14" x 12" x 6" (35.5 x 31 x 15.5 cm).

European airlines start getting slightly tricky.

Most European airlines cap personal items at 40 x 30 x 15 cm, but our bag clears the height easily but is about 1 cm over on width and half a centimeter over on depth (at is 35.5 x 31 x 15.5 cm).

Leather bags can compress more easily than other materials, but if your bag is full, this could be a risk.

Is shipping expensive?

No, US shipping is always free.

But shipping is not free for international orders. Please note, we make $0 on international shipping fees, which are directly calculated by carriers.

Can I return the bag if I don't like it?

Yes, for US orders you can return the bag within 30 days for any reason. Please note, the item must be in brand new condition.
